The Health insurance Marketplace is a service that helps people shop for and enroll in health insurance, available at www.HealthCare.gov
The Marketplace provides health plan shopping and enrollment services through websites, call centers, and in-person help.
Covering Wisconsin is a program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension and helps people understand and sign up for publicly available health insurance and other programs that support health. HealthConnect, a United Way of Dane County program, is also available to Dane County residents. Depending on your income level, the program could cover the cost of your premium if you choose a Silver Level plan. Call 2-1-1 for more information, or for information on other resources available in Dane County.
An Open Enrollment period happens at the end of every year to begin enrollment for the next year. Outside the Open Enrollment period, certain life-changing events may qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period in the Marketplace:
• Special enrollment periods for complex issues
• Qualifying life events (such as getting married, having a baby, or moving outside of your insurer's coverage area)
• BadgerCare (Medicaid and CHIP) enrollment continues year-round
