The Adult Mental Health System is part of the Adult Community Services Division. Services are provided through contracts with eighteen different private non-profit agencies. Most of the services are for persons who have a serious and persistent mental illness, however, anyone who is indigent and in need of ongoing or situational mental health services is eligible to receive services. Additionally, an array of comprehensive services is provided to people who have the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. In most instances these services are for persons who have psychotic disorders requiring services not available through the private sector.

Persons with disabilities who live in their own homes or apartments are eligible.

The Rural Access Program for Persons with Disabilities - provides rides on the Rural Senior Group Transportation buses. These are scheduled group trips which include destinations such as community/senior centers, and grocery and general shopping. The service is a door-to-door, and is provided in accessible vehicles. Medical trips are not provided. The fare is $0.50/one-way trip for nutrition, $1.00/one-way for in-town shopping, and $1.50 for out-of-town shopping (rural areas only) but no one is denied service because of inability to pay. To apply, call your local senior service organization. To find your local senior services, (link)

The RideLine Service - provides rural persons with disabilities with rides to work or volunteer opportunities, education or training, or selected medical trips. The service is door-to-door.
