Planning for an Aging & Disability Resource Center
In the spring of 2006, Dane County began planning for an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) as part of the statewide initiative to expand Family Care. The ADRC is the front door to the long-term care system. At the time of this initial planning, ADRC development was tied to Family Care implementation. Although the State of Wisconsin has currently capped Family Care enrollment and halted further expansion of the program, the State's 2011-13 biennial budget did include funds to continue the statewide rollout of ADRCs.
Dane County Human Services Director, Lynn Green, has submitted a letter
to the State indicating our intent to resume planning for an ADRC in Dane County with a projected implementation date of October 2012.
The first step will be to dust off the ADRC framework that was developed in the original planning process. The original draft application was a product of more than 50 planning meetings including Dane County staff, community partners, advocates, consumers and family members. As we return to the planning process we will continue to seek input and advice from the broader community. Stay tuned.
