Exterior

Welcome to Badger Prairie surrounded by beautiful Badger Prairie County Park. We are a non-profit, 120-bed nursing home, owned and operated by Dane County, Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide person-centered care to Dane County residents with behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric disorders that keep them from living with their own families, in community settings, or in other traditional nursing homes. Badger Prairie offers a full variety of therapy services for both short term and long term rehabilitation, and special resources for bariatric residents. We partner with Hospice Care and community treatment providers to provide a wide range of services to our residents.

Households

Households of eight to eleven resident rooms form a spacious homelike environment. Each household has its own dining room, resident kitchen, living room, sunroom and access to outdoor areas.

Resident Rooms

Each resident has a private room with half-bath, and amenities such as flat panel TV with cable, tasteful furnishings and ample storage. Large windows provide abundant natural light, many with a view of the park.

Bariatric Resident Room

Our bariatric rooms provide extra space and a ceiling mounted transfer lift. These rooms are ideal for residents in need of a larger bed or more space for medical equipment.

Patios

Residents enjoy spending time outside enjoying the beautiful setting. Some residents choose to help with seasonal plantings in our raised outdoor gardening beds. The patio is accessible right outside the household dining room door.

Spa

Warm comfortable spa with jacuzzi and shower insure privacy and comfort.

Auditorium / Activity Room

The Recreational Activity Department provides a variety of programs to meet the individual needs and preferences of our residents. We offer a balance of group and individual activities are provided focusing on recreation, socialization, arts, crafts and intellectual pursuits.

Dietary Services

Meals are developed and overseen by our Registered Dietitian. We accommodate special dietary needs and provide delicious healthy foods and seasonal menus.

Park

Badger Prairie Health Care Center provides a homelike environment for our residents. We respect and ensure the individual rights, privacy and dignity of those entrusted in our care.

Rehabilitation Services

Our Rehabilitation services at Badger Prairie are provided in a state of the art rehab clinic. Staff help maximize our residents' ability to function as independently as possible and achieve the highest level of self-sufficiency.

Dental Services

Dental services are provided on site. Our staff is skilled at working with special needs residents.

Beauty / Barber services

Beauty and Barber services are available on the premises. The beautician is here three days a week and sees residents by appointment.
